Please ask! Email us: email@example.com Call us: (347) 762-6244
Where do classes take place?
Group Classes are held in Park Slope Brooklyn at 371 8th Street (between 6th and 7th avenues) Garden Apartment or in the comfort of your own home.
How do I get to Parent Craft? Is there parking?
Parent Craft is a ~5 min walk from the F/G/R Trains at 4th-9th St. or 7th Ave Station and a short walk from the B61 and B63 Bus. Limited metered street parking is available on 9th Street and neighborhood parking on side streets. Private Classes can be held in your home or in the Parent Craft Space at a mutually convenient date and time.
When in my pregnancy should I take a childbirth class?
Parent Craft uniquely offers classes for every phase of your pregnancy, including pre-conception at our Seed Class. For questions during your pregnancy, you can drop-in monthly for our Ask the Midwife Q&A Group or schedule a 20 min private phone consult on a topic of your choice with Casey at any time. We recommend you schedule the Labor + Birth Class between 28-36 weeks. The Fourth Trimester Class is ideal to take after you complete the Labor Class but before baby arrives (and best to plan before 36 weeks, if possible). New Moms Group is support once baby arrives!
Who teaches the classes?
Parent Craft classes are taught by founder Casey Selzer, a Certified Nurse Midwife, Lamaze Childbirth Educator and mother of 3 young daughters (including a set of twins). The 4th Trimester Class & New Moms Group is taught by Tia Zlotnikoff, Postpartum Specialist and Doula of www.tiasuzanne.com. Learn more about Casey and Tia here
Why should I choose Parent Craft? What is your teaching philosophy?
Our classes reflect the diversity of Casey’s professional experience working with expecting and new families over the past 15 years. Curriculum draws on Casey’s work as a clinical Midwife in NYC, a birth and postpartum doula, training in Lamaze as well as her most rewarding work as Mom to 3 young daughters. Our goal is to create classes that are welcoming, relaxed, personal and informative without being overwhelming. We want to help you build trust in your relationships, identify support and resources and to embrace that while you won’t know everything about this experience, you will be OK! We give you specific tools and resources to navigate the mystery of pregnancy, birth and beyond.
What should I wear to class?
Dress comfortably in clothes that will allow you to move freely and feel uninhibited. If you are comfortable, we prefer to keep the space a shoe-free zone. Our space has central AC and heating allowing for a comfortable climate for all!
What should I bring to class?
Feel free to bring anything that will help you to feel comfortable while in class. We provide water and herbal / de-caffeinated tea selections. During our day-long workshops we break for lunch at one of many delicious nearby cafes and we provide an afternoon snack. We have extra clipboards, loose paper and pens, but many people prefer to bring their own notebook or iPad for jotting down important points.
What are the different classes you offer?
We offer classes that span from preconception to new moms groups. Seed Class - Preconception / 1st Trimester Education Ask the Midwife: Q&A with Casey - Monthly Pregnancy Group Class Labor + Birth Class (One-Day Intensive or 3 Week Format) Fourth Trimester: Breastfeeding / Newborn / Postpartum New Moms Group - weekly meet-up

Please let us know about any emotional, physical or special needs we should be aware of including any dietary / allergy concerns so we can make your class time is as comfortable as possible.
